My name is Ben Crosby and I was born in Nashville, Tennessee but I have spent most of my life in Oxford, Mississippi. I graduated from Oxford High School. My senior year I started taking Software and Development and really began learning and enjoying coding. This is where I first learned about Base Camp Coding Academy. Since being at BCCA, I have learned many new frameworks and languages that I can use to pursue a career in software development. In my spare time I enjoy watching sports, playing video games and traveling with my family and friends.
NBA Arcade Game: I developed this game with a classmate, using Python. You choose a player from a list of NBA teams and how you would like that player to attempt to score (layup, dunk, 3 point shot or mid-range shot). The players have their own set of attributes for each shot. The better the player you choose the higher the chance of success of scoring points on each shot. You are playing against the computer that is choosing random shots. There are four regular rounds and the winner goes on to the final round.
visitThis is a project where you can enter a sports player into the website. You enter their name, position, college, and sport. Once you do this you can then proceed to draft that player to whatever professional team you want.
visitI developed this interactive fishing game using Java. You start with 10 points that you can use in the virtual store to buy bait. Depending on the fish you catch, you can you gain more points and experience to level up and move to the next location. You can catch better fish and use better bait as your level increases.
visitThis website was developed with a classmate using JavaScript and HTML/CSS. We imported recipes from a .json file and displayed them on a HTML page. There is a carousel of food items on the home page followed by the description.
